I wasn't sure how much this DE process would cost but I just found out I will be in debt for the rest of my life :-( but I pray at least I can have a beautiful child and be happy! I can only afford this one time so I pray I get a bfp!

If you haven't already picked a clinic, some people decide to go abroad because it is significantly less expensive. A typical cycle in Europe is around $6000 - $12,000 including the donor and her meds - anonymous donors are less expensive, Open ID donors would be toward the top end of that price.

Are you using an exclusive or shared donor? Hopefully you will get a BFP and still have some frosties left for siblings :-)

Have you considered the Attain program? It costs a little more upfront, but you get several chances and money back guarantee. I understand it is different in different areas, but in my case, I had available to me 3 fresh and unlimited frozen cycles. If I was not successful, I would get my money back (I was successful first time, which is what they are banking on). Then they coordinate with a financing company (like Springstone) which offers medical loans at pretty reasonable rates. If your credit is good, they will lend you 100% of your costs and you can choose your repayment terms.

We used Attain because our out of pocket costs for one donor cycle was $31k and the thought of spending that and it not working made me sick to my stomach! OMG!

I would also check to see if a Dr. in your area has their own donor pool. I switched Dr's for that reason and "only" had to pay $6,000 for my donor eggs. I am able to view all their photos and information but they don't know anything about me. Sadly, my cycle didn't work and I'm looking to use my cousin's eggs for our next try but if her tests come back bad (she's 36), I will use a different donor for the same cost. There are options out there, just takes time sometimes to find them! Best of luck!

A lot of women use Shady Grove Fertility....the have a shared risk program, where bascially you get your money back if you don't bring home a baby after a certain amount of cycles.
