i am in my first ivf cycle and I’m scared beyond words of so many things! Am I taking my medications right? Will I produce enough eggs? Will they produce viable embryos and then will I only end up with one good embryo that won’t implant? Etc.,etc. My retrieval is this coming week and I had a slow start because I developed a cyst from the bc pills so now I’m worried I won’t have very many eggs to retrieve. Just need to vent!! Any tips from anyone would be welcome!! Thanks in advance!!
Omg I was a nervous wreck but my retrieval went very well! We have to travel about 2 hours to the clinic and the drive alone made me anxious but once I was there, everything went smoothly and it was over before I knew it! I had some moderate cramping but whatever they gave me for it there lasted all day and night and I haven’t needed anything for any pain since. I am really bloated though but I knew that would be a side effect. They were able to retrieve 10 eggs which was a little disappointing but not unexpected due to my age(I’m 37). Tomorrow I will hear more about how everything is progressing and I’m praying at least half my eggs make it but in all honesty, I’ll be happy with just one! Nervous to hear whatever news they give me tomorrow and the next few days! Overall though, the process was a lot less scary than I expected! If you’re planning on going through this process in September, I suggest modifying your diet to a low sugar/high protein lifestyle. Studies show women with higher sugar intakes have poorer quality eggs as opposed to women who eat more protein and slower carbs! The change takes about 3 months to make an impact in your body so I’d start now for better success!! Good luck to you and keep me posted!
I was in the same infertility boat before. Years ago I was diagnosed on endo&pcos. 2 years TTC didn't bring us success. Besides dh had a lower count of sperm. Well, we made decision and tried IVFs with own eggs. But these procedures turned to be helpless for us. I was bothered much with the pain you know. We then got to know about our clinic on asiu.us. BTC offered free consultations so we made them a go. This time applying for surrogacy. Our 1st shot was luck. Our surro is prego and this all must feel like the thing from the past. But it doesn't actually. I think I could be really relaxed after delivery and the day we finally take our LO home. Anyway, we both are sure we want more children. So we'll definitely come back in future.
