my 1st round of IVF is in September & I’m scared & anxious. I can’t talk to my partner bc the way he was raised is ppl dnt talk about personal things especially feelings. He’s been supportive in his own way. Been by my side through everything. I love him so much 4 that bc he has stepped a lot out of his comfort zone. I just wish I had sum1 to talk to.
I’m also in need of someone to talk to because my husband doesn’t really want us discussing everything with anyone as of yet. He wants to wait until we are well into a pregnancy so as to not get our family members’ hopes up and what not. It’s hard though because as a woman, you need another woman to talk to and there are some things men just can’t understand. So feel free to talk to me anytime...looks like we’re both in our first ivf cycle and it has already proven to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with! We can get through this together and with positivity I pray we both have success!!
It’s hard not having anyone to talk to. I have so emotions going through me. I’m scared, excited, confused & so many other emotions & this is the 1st time I’ve been able to tell anyone. When is ur 1st round of IVF? Thanks 4 the positivity & I pray u have success.
Thanks so much for the advice. My story is I have 1 fallopian tube & it’s closed. No other problems. I have been going through this for 10 years & in vitro was something I didn’t want to do. I wanted to be able to do it naturally & not being able to has made me feel like a failure. I even was going to get a procedure called tubouterine implantation but my partner wants to do IVF. I was a little hesitant at first but now I’m excited. I’m a little frustrated bcuz trying to find places to get my meds by the 1st week of September is proving to be hard. I gave up looking online & just went to Walmart & CVS to check prices & see what my insurance will pay for.
Even though this is what my partner wants he’s stepping way out of his comfort zone bc he’s such a private person. This IVF journey is like getting on a roller coaster & I haven’t even started taking the 20 shots a day. Anyways, thanks 4 sharing your story with me & thanks 4 reading my mine. XX
hello angel2019. I have just joined this group. I am beginning IVF, also for tubal factor infertility. I was diagnosed three months ago (after trying to conceive for over a year and one ectopic pregnancy). Ever since I learned that it was physically impossible for me to become pregnant without IVF, it feels like every day has been an emotional struggle. There are so many feelings and thoughts I have, and it feels like there is no one who understands. I have been distancing from friends and family, due to a combination of depression, and hypersensitivity to what others say (about pregnancy, children, fertility, etc). It is very difficult and I haven't even begun IVF. I also have a husband who is very supportive but not so great at talking about his feelings. Anyway, wanted to let you know that we are here and having a similar experience to you. Please feel free to share your feelings and experience.
I was here just over 2 yrs ago looking for support as we were going through IVF with own eggs in the UK. Miraculously, shot#3 worked, rising then extremelly falling down – we lost. Already though, we were looking for trying more. Absolutely like it was at the beginning of our fertility journey….In my naivety, I thought I would be one of those miracle clichés you hear about. You know the ones who struggle for years and finally get pregnant with IVF. And then a few months later just happen to accidentally get pregnant naturally. It wasn't meant to be! Shot#4 – bfn. So soon afterwards we had an appointment with our doc at BTC to start the surrogacy process. I was beyond scared. What made it so much worse is that my husband is Mr “Perfect”. I feel like he must look down on me with a mixture of sympathy and superiority..Because it is not his fault we can’t conceive..it’s mine. I was finding this trip too overwhelming first. I was not coping well with the medications. Hormones were making me insane. I worried about every other thing and could burst into tears for no reason. I called the clinic's 24/7 support line and had nice talks with the experts. They said that was ok, our bodies get used to the meds differently. So those are just side effects. And soon I'll feel much better. So I did – Our surro is prego with my own egg!
