Making Your Point of Contact
Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and [Jesus] laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. —Luke 4:40
Jesus was the will of God in action. He constantly showed people that God wanted them healed. God wants you healed, and once that truth is lodged in your heart, your next step is to make a point of contact. This “point of contact” refers to the moment you begin to release your faith for your healing. After finding out God’s will, you make your petition: “Thank God, I believe I receive my healing. I’m healed by the stripes of Jesus.” A point of contact is made in two ways. One way is through prayer, according to Mark 11:24: “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Another way is through the laying on of hands: “In my name...they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17,18). When a person makes his point of contact, at that moment he begins to believe he receives his healing. He may not feel or see it, but he still believes he has received his answer. You may hear him say, “I believe I received when I prayed” or “I believe I received when hands were laid on me.” “Do you feel any different?” someone might ask. The person in faith will answer, “No, but that doesn’t make any difference because I believe I’ve received!” That’s the confession of faith.
