My husband and I are currently on our 13 month trying to conceive. We started trying in October 2016. It has been rather frustrating. We tried for 6 months before going and seeing anyone. In the first 6 months my cycles would range anywhere from 25 to 35 days. On month 6 (March 2017) we decided to go see my OBGYN. He just wanted me to use the ovulation kits and have timed intercourse, he thought doing that would be the answer. Well it wasn't. On month 7 (April 2017) My cycles were totally out of wack. I would bleed every week and a half. I did that for 2 months but it seemed like eternity. I went back to my OBGYN and told him about it. He ordered blood work to check my progesterone levels after each time I bled. The first time my level was a 1 and the second time it was a 0.5. He said I wasn't ovulating that is why I was bleeding so much. So I had an ultrasound done to make sure there wasn't any other problems. Everything came out fine. In the meantime I had done alot of research myself and I had alot of the PCOS symptoms. I had bad acne and my hair was falling out. My OBGYN started me on Letrazole 2.5 that next month (June 2017). I took 2.5 mg on days 3-7 of cycle. In August 2017 I had a chemical pregnancy. I got a postive test 5 days before my period was supposed to arrive. I tested postive for 2 days then all of the sudden it was negative. I went in for blood work and they said my blood test was negative. They said the level had to be at a 10 to be positive and a 7 to be negative but mine was a 8. So he said he thinks it may have been a chemical. I continued to take Letrazole until month 11 (September 2017) and I had no luck. I was still using the ovulation kits and I was getting a postive but not until day 16. I decided on my own that I was going to seek into this further. Being an OBGYN they are limited on what fertility treatments they can do. So I decided to take it upon myself and make an appointment with a Fertility specialist. My appointment wasn't until November 2017. I stopped taking my letrazole on month 12 (October 2017) becuase I wanted a fresh cycle before I went to the Fertility Specialist. When I went to my appoinment they said I had PCOS. They ordered a HSG to make sure my tubes were clear and they were. He increased my Letrazole dose to 7.5 mg on days 3-7. And ordered me a trigger shot to take on day 12. I did ovulate on day 14. I am currently on day 24 of my cycle. I have tested the last 2 days and they have been negative. So on day 28 I will know for sure. I have also been on progesterone vaginally since day 16. Progesterone is a devil drug. This has just been really discouraging and alot of money so far. I can not talk about with anyone not even my husband because no one understands. No one in my family has been through this. Everytime I say anything about I get "Oh it will happen" or "you are just too stressed". That is not the answer I want.
