Infertility, Secondary Support Group
"Secondary infertility" is difficulty conceiving after already having conceived and carried a normal pregnancy. Apart from various medical conditions (e.g. hormonal), this may come as a result of age and stress felt to provide a sibling for their first child.
Before conceiving my little boy I had a month of clomid, went for a scan and no follicle. Next month they put me on menupur and I had 1 mature follicle and conceived that month! An absolute miracle now considering since ttc our second child I've had numerous menopur cycles and not got pregnant. Don't think it's the menopur though as it always does it's job of producing mature follicles. I also had menopur when we did IVF and it helped me to produce 8 mature eggs all of which fertilized.
I had a huge needle phobia but do the injections myself now as I find it easier to have control. It's fine, especially if you rub the area with an ice cube first.
Menupur is good because the dosage can be increased if needed. Good luck, I'm still hoping it will work for me a second time. x
