"Secondary infertility" is difficulty conceiving after already having conceived and carried a normal pregnancy. Apart from various medical conditions (e.g. hormonal), this may come as a result of age and stress felt to provide a sibling for their first child.

hello I'm new to this group and I'm very happy to finally found one. My story...I have 2 kids. Daughter almost 9 and son 5. My daughter was a complete surprise and we planned my son. With my son I took Provera and Clomid. Now My husband and I are trying to have a third baby. It has been the longest 11 month of my life. I feel disappointed in myself every time the doctor office calls and tells me that I haven't ovulated. I become depressed. A lot of family and friends give me a hard time because I already have 2 kids...I should feel blessed that I have them...that there are women in the world who don't even have one. I have no one in my life who understands what I'm going through. Sorry guys...End Rant.

I understand your pain. I'm also trying for a third and have no one in my life who really understands. I never imagined in my life that I would face an issue that I couldn't talk about to people in my life. It has been a regular source of stress. Regular because conceiving has never come easy for me. Both kids took a while to conceive (#1 took 18 months, #2 took 9). And now we've been trying for 3 years for #3. In some strange way I've gotten "used to it". But it doesn't make the journey easier. It's nice to have a group to talk to tho :)

Don't ever let anyone tell you how you should feel! Even though you have been blessed with two children, your desire for another little one is your human right. I only have one child, would love another one when the time is right. You are lucky to have your husband there with you. I just hope that people realize how lucky they are to have someone to share their lives with. I would like that someday. I just wanted you to know that I wish you well and that I pray for that third baby that is coming your way :). XOXO

I am so sorry for your struggles. I have been trying for my 3rd for the last 4 years. Having two children is wonderful and I am grateful every day for them, but the heartache is real. I know I am blessed, but I want desperately to have another. Every unsuccessful month feels like a loss. Sometimes it is unbearable. My heart is broken and it breaks for you too. You're not alone.

I truly understand how hard it is. I have a daughter and am so incredibly thankful for her everyday. But my heart aches for another child in ways I didn't even know it could. It's a pain no one understands unless you've been there. My thoughts are with you!
