I have so many questions I want to ask, and no idea which to ask!
Have you found anything that helps with waking up? Or I suppose it's possible that waking up isn't an issue for you!?
I think that's the thing I find most difficult - having no, or very little, memory of what I've said and done in the mornings!
So far I've only had modafinil (provigil) but not sure why at this point - I can take it, then find myself having a nap an hour latter! I spend most of my time at home sitting on a stool, so if I do fall asleep I start falling off and wake up again!
But going back to see specialists in September....
Feels kind of hopeless, as I'm also struggling with anxiety, so I have meds that can increase drowsiness for anxiety, and the provigil that can exacerbate anxiety!
Have you looked into IH much? (Hypersomnia foundation site has links to so many interesting studies that make me vaugley hopefully that an effective treatment might exist) And were you diagnosed the 'standard' way? (sleep diary/polysomnography/MSL)
I took Provigil in the past during one of my psychiatric inpatient visits i.e. the majority of people don't think slicing yourself open is appropriate. I'm on Nuvigil now and I have found it less helpful. I have the same situation with napping.
I'm also in the same boat as you regarding pre-existing conditions. I have major depressive disorder and anxiety. But now I can't the Klonopin cause it will knock me out.
I've seen more doctors than I can count. The frustration, anger, hopelessness, and fatigue are all consuming.
I've been researching as well. I was diagnosed the standard way.
Cicatrices, I have the exact same problem!! I've got depression and anxiety, I've tried Klonopin but I'm out cold for like a day afterwards. The medications to keep me awake are running riot with my anxiety. I tried Modafinil but was still so tired, then Armodafinil with Dexamphetamine but I was too anxious, I'm currently trying out Modafinil with a bit of Dexamphetamine and it's doing okaaayyy... not ideal, but better than just the Modafinil or being on the Armodafinil.
It's affecting my work something shocking, they're trying to be supportive but I've had 3 meetings with HR in the past 6 months, I've only been here for 10 months.
Sometimes I wish I could just stay awake all the time because then I wouldn't have to worry about waking up. It's so hard! Help!!
Has anyone figured out any sort of accommodations at work that are helpful? Mornings are terrible when trying to be even a little productive.
We are out there and awake
