The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced the nominees for this year's class of inductees this week. Of the 17 artists that made the short list, 10 were first-timers and as usual the nominees represent several different genres of music (why they still insist on calling it the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not just call it the more accurate, albeit generic sounding Music Hall of Fame, I don't understand). This year's nominees are:

- Iron Maiden
- Joy Divison/New Order
- New Edition
- Oasis

- Wu Tang Clan
Which five acts do you think are most deserving to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and why? You can go with your five favorite acts, five you think should be in the hall (whether you're a fan or not) based on their catalog and how influential they are on other artists, or some combination there of... Or heck, you could put them in categories like "deserves to go in this year", "maybe next time", and "why are they even on this ballot?"... however you want to do it. It still chokes me up. I had tears in my eyes again. I love Ted Lasso and would highly recommend watching it if you can. I'm pleasantly surprised to get three of the four I was hoping for in. I'm a little surprised about Iron Maiden and Wu-Tang Clan and even more surprised about Sade, I would've thought surely Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, and/or New Edition would've had more of a shot making it in over those three acts but I guess I have no idea what qualifies anyone for the hall of fame these days... still, overall I'm happy with the results and it should be a good induction ceremony later this year.
