So for anyone who is looking for work and needs help, you do have options. One is to contact a local Vocational Rehabilitation(spelling here) office and talk to them about applying. The best way to find one is to go online and do a search, depending on your state locations may very. If you move, you need to let them know asap because you may have to be switched to a different city.
I'm not going to lie here and say it's easy to get in, it's not. You do have to go through a test to determine where you stand on the list. After that your level of disability can determine how long it takes you to get in. There are three levels that they have and the lower you are the longer it can take. In addition, don't forget because of funding cuts, it has made the wait time longer to get to an opening. I waited at least a year.
In the meantime I do recommend looking for work and keeping track of where you are looking. The reason being is they do want you to still look for work on your own and this helps you show them what your trying to do. I also recommend before applying making sure all of your medical paperwork is up to date and any tests are done prior.
Also please remember that if your wanting to go in and maybe go back to school, you will still have to pay towards your education. Funding cuts and other factors do apply.
