Today, was the day for my hubby to have his stone blasted, it could be several weeks before he may pass any of them. Since hubby has one kidney stone in each kidney, they could only do one side at a time. There is and new procedure for blasting kidneys, they put you on and flat table with and donut hole in the center and put a pillow under your head and a pillow under your back and the blasting is done by laser. The patients goes into and la-la land and the procedure last about 45 minutes. The old way was to put the patient in water some way and then blast the stones. Plus, several weeks ago they put and stint in each kidney. When he passes the stones the stints will have to be taken out. Poor baby, to and men passing kidneys stones, is like and women giving birth. I'm praying he passing his twins pretty soon for he has been hurting for and month, as well as out of work due this horrible mess.

Them there stones are no fun! My little brother had kidney stones a couple times. The first set he was able to pass eventually on his own, but the second time he was in so much pain with it that he kept passing out so they had to go in and blast them. I've heard that drinking cranberry juice will help prevent the stones from developing and it's supposed to help get rid of the ones you have. Not sure if it works or not though. I think the best way to prevent them though is to remember that you're human and leave the grit for the birds.
