I have been absent for over a year but I am now back. I am deaf, having had the measles at age 10 and the subsequent sulfa drug to save my life. I worked at a deaf school for 25 years as a Student Life Counselor, am now retired. The "local" deafies do not appeal to me as they allow 3 hearing folks to run their lives, and that bothers me! And most of them have never worked, they choose to live off of SSI!

I am independent but would still enjoy some close friends! I am on the West Coast of the United States.
