COOL I NOW KNOW HOW TO SAY CHOCOLATE, A VERY IMPORTANT WORD IN MY DAILY LIFE. I LIKE THAT WEBSITE. HOW MUCH DO YOU HAVE TO PAY TO BE A MEMBER? OR IS IT A FREE SITE?
starbright1949
I go there often have never joined and yes I really need the use of chocolate. You can almost SEE the chocolate being poured can't you. I like that in a word it makes it easier for me to remember it.
crazyladydeb
YES, I WISH ALL THE WORDS WERE SIGNED IN A WAY THAT LOOKED LIKE THE WORD. THAT WOULD MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER TO LEARN. BUT WE CAN'T HAVE IT ALL CAN WE. AS FOR THAT WEB SITE, I TRIED TO LOOK UP A WORD IN THERE AND ALL I GOT WAS A POP UP THAT SAID THAT I HAD TO BE A MEMBER TO USE THAT FEATURE.
starbright1949
what word do you want to know ?
crazyladydeb
LOL CAN'T REMEMBER NOW, I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIND A NEW ONE TO POST IN HERE AS A WORD FOR THE DAY.

I think it's messed up that you have to be a member of a site to learn something. There is a dictionary of asl words but it's expensive to buy. There are vidoes on youtube you can find, but I don't know how much people are really signing in asl or speaking in exact english.
starbright1949
I have always been taugh ASL. It is faster and easier for ppl who have lost hearing to learn. I learned my ABC in just five minuets.

A friend of mine has an aunt and uncle who are deaf and their daughter can sign and speak at the same time without problem. I love it because you know what is going on, the rest of the family knows bits and pieces, or they just write stuff down.
starbright1949
that is me I sign and speak also. But am not perfect with signs and it seems I keep fprgetting more than I learned because I dont have anyyone to use them on but my mirror.
crazyladydeb
WELL I'M JUST STARTING OUT TRYING TO LEARN ASL AND I FORGET TO USE THE WORDS THAT I'VE LEARNED. I GUESS I NEED TO TRY LEARNING WORDS THAT COME UP SEVERAL TIMES IN EVERY DAY CONVERSATION FIRST UNTIL I GET INTO THE HABIT. AND AS FAR AS NOT HAVING ANYONE TO USE IT WITH BUT THE MIRROR, WELL I'VE DECIDED THAT I WILL DO LIKE A FRIEND OF MINE DONE HERE. SHE SIGNS AND SPEAKS ALL THE TIME. SHE LEARNED TO SIGN SO SHE COULD BE AN INTERPRETER AND EVEN WHEN SHE IS SPEAKING TO THOSE WHO CAN HEAR SHE STILL SIGNS. I THINK THAT IS THE ONLY WAY I WILL NEVER LEARN TO DO THIS. I WILL HAVE TO USE IT ALL THE TIME NO MATTER WHAT.
starbright1949
ohhh, I love ppl like that!!
crazyladydeb
Me too. And I want to be like that too.
