Hi everyone, thanks again for all your help and support. I went on a second date with Robert and realized he's just not for me. I feel sad that it wasn't meant to be. I've been lonely for so long and it was so nice having a man interested in me and looking forward to his calls. I still miss my dh so much and I don't want to settle for anyone less then what I had. It's so confusing. I joined senior meet this week and will pray that I meet someone that way but I've never had much luck with these websites. In fact it';s my second time with senior meet hopefully this time i'll get lucky. Hugs to everyone and thanks for letting me post. Lori

It's so hard to let them know, it's not working. I've done it a couple of times and it sucks. You know in your heart, that he's not the one, but sometimes, they think you are. I've stayed friends with a couple of guys I met on the dating sites. We talk every couple of weeks, but don't really see each other. The problem with trying to stay friends, is if they don't want more out of the relationship. It's all so confusing sometimes.

I think you did exactly the right thing. It is so important to take lots and lots of time until your heart and mind are both feeling 100% sure and it is not just need to be cared for or held again. It is so hard for us...(we who know what it is like to have an other half and know what it "is" like to have our needs met) to now have to just be patient and wait and know that when it is not right...it is not right.

You are right, don't settle, but you can enjoy the company of a friend as long as you both realize it's friendship. Keep yourself out there and have fun doing it. I had great chats on seniorsmeet with friends I never met or dated. We had conversations about life and whatever was going on with ourself. Sharon
