I have simply been lurking now, but this new format did it for me. Time to say goodbye

In one week, it will be three years since I unexpectedly lost my husband. I still miss him every day, but am able to even talk about him now without breaking into tears. My life was so shattered, by both the trauma of finding a dead body in my pool, and then having it be my husband! Too many losses, too close togther really did me in. But now, I am stronger than I ever thought I could be, or ever wanted to be. I keep extraordinarily busy, travel a lot alone or with other single/widowed women...in fact I have taken 4 solo international trips as part of a group tour... I volunteer a lot, and just ended a 2 year on again/off again relationship. For good this time. I am dating a few really nice men, and recently met one that has wonderful possibility for the long term. I have wonderfully supportive friends and family, a beautiful home, am stable financially, and feel very blessed to have the life I do.

I am able to look back nowwith gratitude for all my husband gave to me. For the incredible years we shared together. They weren't always easy. Sometimes we hung on by a thread, and sometimes that thread even began to fray, but we held on, because the good always outweighed the bad... He was a good, loving, kind and gentle man. Not an enemy in the world. He taught me so much. About love. Unconditional. And I hold on to all he gave me.

All that being said, this will more than likely be my last post. This site, and the friends I made here, was my lifeline in those early days. And for that, I am also thankful. I was so lost, so scared, and so numb. Never thought I would make it through the darkness that engulfed me, but I did. I am still in touch with several members/former members, and we still provide offsite support for one another.

My best wishes for all of you, as you continue your transitions to a new life...and perhaps new relationships.
