A gentleman was driving from Dallas to Oklahoma City one afternoon on Interstate 35. As he approached the Arbuckle Mountains north of Ardmore, he spotted a wild goat on the side of the road. Fearing that it might get killed, he pulled over and put the animal in the back seat of his car.
A few minutes later, a highway patrolman saw the strange sight of the two of them in the car together and turned on his siren. After pulling the man over, the officer said he had done nothing wrong but wondered about the goat.
The driver said, "I just found him on the side of the interstate and didn't want him to get run over. What should I do?"
"Since you're headed north," the officer advised, "why don't you take the goat to the Oklahoma City Zoo?" The man agreed.
The next afternoon, the patrolman saw the same car, driver, and goat, this time headed south on I-35. Again he stopped the car. "I thought you were going to take the goat to the zoo," the highway patrolman said.
"I did," the driver replied, "and we had such a good time that today we're going to Six Flags."
