Just got word my neighbors 200+ well is dry, he is ~5 acres away. He and I only have our shallow wells which go dry once the river flow into our ditches is shut down. Which so far was to be a week ago but luckily we are being able to keep it going. We have to really watch our use and now its worse. WE first thought maybe we could get my 309 foot well going again now its felt its probably dry since it has not been in use for 20 years.
SO I am thinking of ways to get through this drought.

What is worse we are in red flag fire alert continuing. Lightning on both sides of mountains, no rain, winds, low humidity and 3 digit temps again.

I know CA is 95% severe drought. Oregon and WA have same in several counties. So please pray for all those in huge fires. Numerous in PNW states. Its very smoky here not sure which fire is bringing it in.

I wish I could send you our rain from here...we've had a pretty lush summer, everything is green. But I know friends and family in the Vancouver BC area have been suffering with the same dry weather. Praying for soft, gentle, steady rain to replenish the land, people and animals.

I am in Eastern Oregon and our irrigation water is gone, we have to be careful with our wells and there are now fires on 3 sides of us burning up grazing land. It is is going to be a rough year for everyone and we do appreciate prayers. My oldest son is a wild fire fighter so I double worry. We are working on re-inventing how we manage around here... starting to feed the cows sooner, culling out a lot of our cows. This is a hard decision since my new husband and I have worked our guts out the last 5 years to get the herd up to a decent size, but life is life and we must deal with it one day at a time. Just like getting through our grief of losing our best friend, living is hard but I try and find something joyful every day! Bonnie

I am so worried about all ya'll. No water is a serious problem. I went and checked my creek that surrounds 3 sides of my property. It is bone dry. In the 16 years I have lived here, never seen that. But this is TN, and not a serious problem here. Prayers for you all... Sandee

Here we go. A large fire where my friends have cattle ranging in has blown up big.
I was in Seattle yesterday getting my cancer checkup done - all good.
And they left a message to see if I would ride to push cattle to different area.
There are 4 permittees ~ 500 head in way of direction of fire. The news announced they are having trouble finding a firefighting crew on it as its not threatened homes.

And now I hear there are two new fires above me on Chinook Pass but way high up in mts. - which I am sure they are letting go as they are high up in wilderness area. There are 7 big fires in WA very little containment. My area is getting windy, over cast with clouds no moisture lightning strikes on both hill slopes above me.....

And Oregon Baker City area, and near my sister near Tollgate had a lightning strike flair up.
