HOPEFUL HEARTS...LIVING AGAIN AFTER THE LOSS Community Group
We are a group of people who have grieved the loss of a spouse, partner, or lover and are searching for a life without our mate. Some looking for their own identity as an individual or finding a life for themself. Some looking for companionship or a serious relationship with someone new. And some just feeling lost and unsure. We offer encouragement, support and virtual...
Glad to see you back Sharon.
I have heard about Widows not wanting a new relationship because of the pain of losing them. I feel differently. The time I shared was. Very worth it
The pain is easing up gradually, although I am still prone to having an occasional meltdown. The loneliness is the culprit. I'm very lonely. Of course I haven't pushed the issue of meeting someone either, but I would love to have that happen.
Even my friend Amberly has backed off for the most part.
My middle son gets out of prison and goes into a halfway house tomorrow - after being incarcerated for around fifteen years. I am feeling emotional about that, with knowing that I buried two husbands while he was locked up. Seeing my siblings, my kids, and my grand kids will help, but it's still not the same.
People here in town no longer mention my late husband, and at the same time they don't encourage me to move forward. They just live their own lives.
I don't know if I will reach a decision about relocation on this trip, but I need a change of scenery. I am at a place where I don't feel motivated to do much of anything.
I do still have a little hope. If that is taken away, I don't think I can exist.
Hugs,
Antonella
The first man I asked out was a divorced man in his late 40's with three children who was polite enough to decline and not just ignore me. Frighteningly he passed away unexpectedly just this past june...
The second man I asked out politely said "not tonight" at the time he was a co worker... (two years ago) I have kept in contact with him through random texts and he accepted my invitation to our local fair this past July. It was so much harder than I thought It would be but a breath of fresh air at the same time. I actually laughed and had to contain my excitement as if I were in high school again. Strange feeling at my age. I find myself wanting more interaction with this person but I don't think he's interested. He's 3 yrs younger, is very active and lives an hour from me. I am sure he has other relationship interests and I feel I would only be pressuring him. If he were interested he would ask right? There are so many questions in my mind and I have to say this is all so new because I was with my husband since age 17. I have no clue how to do any of this... Hugs and good thoughts to all who embark on this new possibility. !!!
I hope you're faring well with your new move to North Carolina and that your heart is slowly healing from the loss of your beloved husband Art.
Blessings to you......Lori
