HOPEFUL HEARTS...LIVING AGAIN AFTER THE LOSS Community Group
We are a group of people who have grieved the loss of a spouse, partner, or lover and are searching for a life without our mate. Some looking for their own identity as an individual or finding a life for themself. Some looking for companionship or a serious relationship with someone new. And some just feeling lost and unsure. We offer encouragement, support and virtual...
My thinking is that if I had a relationship, I would have to compromise and that person might not like needlework. I've adjusted to living alone better than I thought I ever would and I'm quite content to be social but on my terms and no one else's. Maybe I'm just a selfish person now, but I have really surprised myself in how much I have become accustomed to doing what I want when I want.
My motto is that I am alone, but I am not lonely.

Of course, you need to be realistic. Safety first. Always. I think it is easier if you live in a city....lots more options. And I clearly would recommend Ourtime.com (Seniorpeoplemeet.com same site, different name) because the men are older, and are not looking for women in their 30's and 40's!
Like others say, it is still important to find things to do without a man, to feel whole and relatively happy. Do you travel? Small group tours are a fun and exciting way to meet others, and to see more of this incredible world.
When my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer and died 10 weeks later, everything fell apart, or so it felt. I was forced to find myself, my likes and dislikes, my wants and needs, I needed time to figure out what I wanted, because I was not just looking for anybody. I was determined to be true to me before I became joined to another. Then I found a man who loved me and I love him. Did I say, "we meet on senior people meet "?
