Hello,
I an not new but I have been silent for a long time although I read both Boards every day. I joined DS in 2007 after the death of my husband from Colon Cancer. I neve posted on WW but I read it every single day and I still do. At that time, my pain was too fresh. After a few years, I was able to post to HH, but eventually stopped doing that, although again I read both Boards everyday. I retired a year ago on July 1 at he age of 60. I was 53 when my husband died. We were married 32 years, no children. It has been eight years as of July 2. I am in a very good place now and I have started living again. It did not take eight years to do this, but it did not happen overnight. I have friends, I have two stray cats, play the piano and love to travel. I am very grateful to God. I wanted to introduce myself because I plan to start posting again.

Somethings i take in some i pass on. That is about how its been these past four years as well, some things i act on and some i take a pass on., aa
Deciding what has been best for me has varied but i am so much different and i am beginning to love this person, totally accept this person, not just talk the talk because talking it is nice and giving advice but walking it your own way that makes each individual come to their path in their way is the most important thing.
I am not so convinced that the loss of a loved one leaves us in an unending quest to find a new love perhaps the unending quest is in find the best person we can be and through that we will be where we are destined to be
I like the last lines of your post about being the best we can be, and through that maybe we are destined to be where we are.
