Well Saturday was my wedding and I could not have imagined a more beautiful day! We had friends and family from all over the country here to celebrate with us and got to top it off with a perfect California day, 78 degrees with a cool breeze all day long!
It’s funny but both of using being widowed the one part of the vows we struggled with was the ending. Neither of us wanted to end the vow with the traditional “to death do you part” or “as long as you both shall live”. We finally settled on “for all the years we are granted on this earth”.
Thank you all for the amazing support (and confidence) you have given me on all aspects of this journey.
…and for Vicki, yes there was cake (pictures as soon as I get them back from the photographer)!

What a beautiful post of a magical day. I thank you for sharing your journey of happiness with us. Your "ending" words to your vows are PERFECT. No one knows like a widow/widower the brevity of life and how to "catch" the wonderful moments.

Joe & I ended our vows with "for as many years as God allows.", for we know that life, & death, and everything in between are in His hands.....And may He allow you & your new bride to spend many wonderful, happy & blessed years together....

Thank you for such an inspiring post. Congratulations to you and your lovely bride. I too understand struggling with those usual end of the vow words. I think the ones you two chose say it all beautifully. So happy for you both and wish you many many wonderful, happy healthy years together.
