Well Easter has come and gone and I am feeling pretty darn good.
Sue and her daughter and grandkids spent a long weekend at my place. The first two nights her daughter and husband took the opportunity to go out and visit friends so it was just Sue and I and 4 grandkids. The first night we put a movie on and Mia (she’s 5) climbed up on my lap with her blanket and watched the whole movie curled up. The second night as I was getting the movie set up Alhora (she’s 7) came in. I told her it would be a few minutes before the movie was ready to go and she said “I figured I would have to be here first if I wanted to sit with you”. It almost made me cry. Sue explained that they are a “blended” family (yours, mine and ours) but even though they have 4 grandmas they have no grandpas (either out of the picture or just uninvolved), although she was surprised as her experience was the girls were usually very shy and standoffish until they get to know you.
All in all it was a wonderful, chaotic weekend (especially with a very mobile 2 year old!). Lots of cleaning up still to do but I am feeling more peaceful than I have in awhile.

Your telling of the events just touched a deep chord in my heart and I'm so happy that everyone had a wonderful time. Sounds like the grandkids really like spending time with you!
That is wonderful! What a special treat to have little girls around. Sounds like you have a wonderful relationship in the making. I'm so happy for you.
