HOPEFUL HEARTS...LIVING AGAIN AFTER THE LOSS Community Group
We are a group of people who have grieved the loss of a spouse, partner, or lover and are searching for a life without our mate. Some looking for their own identity as an individual or finding a life for themself. Some looking for companionship or a serious relationship with someone new. And some just feeling lost and unsure. We offer encouragement, support and virtual...

I'll share something that now I feel it's OK to talk about. I too thought I was losing my mind a month after Bob passed. I couldn't remember anything about him except those last days when he was dying. A counselor at Hope Hospice told me to picture that scene on a TV screen and turn it off in my mind. They find solutions. Those were hard days. I survived and you will too. Love and Hugs, Dolores
you did the absolute right thing. Same thing happened to me. I fell for a smooth talker with no actions to match, but at the time, all of the words sounded so good, it seemed to good to be true, turns out that is exactly right.
I did learn that I did not know enough about dating after not having it done it for so long and finally gave myself permission to learn, really learn who I am, what I need, to know truly that another person's actions cannot control me.
You will make it through this, it feels so shockng at first it is a different kind of grieving and it hurts and as with our lost loved one, we CAN and DO make it
you will make it
I realized that with a few of the men in my life (my dad included) - realizing that their actions had everything to do with them, than they had to do with me and whether I'm good enough or not.
Now, when people's actions are not what I expect, I look for what's behind it. Those that want to date but say they don't want to deal with other's baggage usually have a whole airline size luggage cart behind them, that they are trying to avoid.
And Darlene - I am so sorry for your second loss. Sending hugs...
