Paula - thank for posting this. I very much relate to her saying she had set her standards high and decided not to date for one year after wasting time on other relationships simply because she was lonely. I've finally found ways to offset the lonely or I've at least gotten used to it and I'm simply not willing to settle.

Interesting article, but for me now, I'm looking for someone who will help me and encourage me to find my full potential, and for me to help him do that for himself too . Growing together as a couple is hard work, with adjustments along the way, but the adjustments shouldn't be a sacrifice - they should make sense, and not diminish the "you" in the relationship. Working it all out is another aspect that I enjoy about a committed relationship - both support each other, encourage each other to be best that they be for themselves, then that's a good relationship. Only then are you headed for completness - when both people are whole. I don't think we waste time on any relationship - we should learn and grow from them.

Good article Paula...I totally agree that we should not settle..it seems like .I said "no" hundreds of times before I said "yes"...and I did not settle...she is very right that this is such a personal decision...and what works for one, may not work for another...I think we have all come to that conclusion....

Thank you for sharing this article, Paula. I agree with the writer... we need to feel complete within ourselves and contented in where we are in our life, and our grief journey.

I am coming upon 22 months and still do not feel like I am ready for dating. I have special friendships with a few men and that is absolutely AWESOME !! But, no dating yet for me. But, I hope someday the Lord will send that special Godly man into my life.

I am so happy for all of you who have found those special men in your lives!! i love hearing about your experiences, as I hope I'll also be there someday!
