That we can each remember that Christmas is not about us or loss. It is about the birth of our Savior. Love and grace given to us before we even knew we needed it. In our quiet moments this holiday, I hope we can take a moment to thank God for His divine love, His gifts and His presence. Our marriages were possible because of His guidance.
I hope we can trust Him with the next steps in our lives. I hope we can look forward into tomorrow and trust Him with our hearts. For the plans He has are to prosper us, not harm us.
He still loves us enough to give His one and only son. We need to embrace that divine love and remember all the times we thought we didn't need Him and He was right there with us and for us!
For a child was born in Bethlehem, for you and for me. He bore His cross and ours!

God has a plan for all of us. During our grief it's really hard to imagine and hard to be positive.
Thank you for reminding us of the real reason we celebrate Christmas.

Well said, Mel! I bought a magnet for my car that says "This Season Remember the Reason"...I have to be honest that I bought it as much of a reminder for myself as for others. I am trying to focus on Jesus and his birth and remember exactly what Mel said as it is so true...Christmas is the start of what gives me hope. Merry Christmas

I was in Israel and Jordan in November. Jerusalem, Galilee, Bethlehem, Capurnum, and so on. I am not sure if that was the reason, or if just enough healing has taken place, but Christmas was (Most of the time) a season of joy for me this year. I was able to decorate the house, attend, and even host at my home, social gatherings. It was so much more personal, because I "got it" spiritually... made a huge difference.

Now, I do have to admit....on Christmas eve, in the middle of dinner preparation, I totally lost it. Had to leave the huge family gathering, and run to the bedroom and sob. I was shaking and couldn't breathe. Could NOT pull it together. Worst meltdown in months. But, it passed, and 2015 is a new start once again.
