Last night, my daughter thanked me for being her mom. Recently, she has been in a lot of trouble. She has had a lot of consequences and will have for the next 90 days, because she broke the law. Initially, she bucked me when I laid down the punishment. That was 3 weeks ago. Last night, she told me how she appreciates it. Awwww.
I had posted earlier that I was afraid that I was causing her problems because I'm dating a guy who owns a Thai restaurant. My best friend told me that my daughter really doesn't realize that I am dating him. She just knows we have been eating alot of Thai food lately.
She asked me last night why I don't get angry with her after all that she has done. I told her because I pray and I listen. Anger isn't necessary. She said "thank you."
It warms my heart.

Mel...sounds like you have a good relationship with your daughter. It is difficult being a parent, I wish there was a training manual to look at before we had kids. I have two kids, my daughter still lives at home with me. I had a hard time being both their mom and their friend. You do have to put your foot down. My husband was extremely hard on my kids, and I was the softie. Both kids turned out to be wonderful people, I am so proud of them. My daughter is a nurse, and is the peacemaker in our family. I totally agree with your statement about anger, but due to our circumstances relating to my husband's death and his greedy family, sometimes it isnt easy. Thank you for sharing! Patricia

I didn't notice until today, when the guy approached me. I have run into this guy, over and over again. He actually found out about me, talked to people I know. Called me by name (I didn't get his). Knows where I live. Asked me today, if all the men in my town, are running to my door? And would I be interested in dating him. Or was it too early? He is just so nice, right now. I said, I thought I was alright to date. Then as I got home, I realized, I forgot to give him my cell number. LOL
