Ok ive read a lot about how doctor put people on meds for stuff the a diet change can help with, my question is why do they do that?? Personally i think they should be looking at diet when it comes to things like diabetes and high cholesterol instead of meds. Here in my part of Australia its what they do first then maybe look at meds. Are doctors that control by the meds companies in the usa?? Why is it like that over there?
Sure, diabetes can be controlled by diet, but how many people are willing to be that responsible for their health? It is much easier to say "I've done my part, following the doctors orders" by taking a pill or two than to commit to the necessary diet and exercise program.
Case in point, both my husband and are are pre-diabetic. I try to control my situation with diet and exercise with the hopes of getting off 500mg Metformin daily.
My husband is perfectly happy to rely on 2000mg metformin daily.
True that. My dad is diabetic corsed by medication to stop blood poisoning and his is under control by diet he was offered the meds but didn't want them.
Generally speaking, people are lazy and don't like to suffer at all.
People would love to take a pill and be thin while eating chocolate cake twice a day. People would rather worry about a possibility of cancer in the far future. And continue smoking now. Why suffer through withdrawals when they may not get cancer?
People want a quick fix. A pill..... is a quick fix.
Plus worldwide, all Pharmaceutical Companies do charge a fortune and make a fortune.
Very few people want to WORK to better themselves. Life's a struggle as it is. Why diet, why exercise, why make changes in their life and disrupt their normalcy?
Yet if you really delve into peoples lives that do decide to make changes, exercise, diet and so on. Most of them have truely changed their lives around. They have worked hard at it, and put a great deal of effort into bettering their health and life styles.
I honestly can't think of one person I've known personally or read about that has made these kinds of changes, and failed at becoming better physically and mentally.
So.... it really comes down to people wanting a magic pill to cure any and all illnesses.
Ahhh so the company are playing on how lazy people are? Unfortunately people seem to forget that theres no cure for cancer as yet.....i hope there will be one day soon. They can't even cure the common cold with there stuff.
I find it interesting thats all.
Still who wouldn't like to have a quick fix. I grew up watching science fiction movies. Where someone took a pill to create a state of happiness. Another for motivation etc. etc.
It would be a great thing. But here's something else.
Anytime man/science tries to change things and creates synthetics or takes things out of their natural ways. It is not quite as good. Or there are many side effects.
Like growing fish in ponds for mass production. The fish are tested and are not nearly as good for us as fish that live naturally.
Most high production farming leaves out flavor. Though its bigger and may fill more stomachs. Strawberries and tomatoes as an example.
Medicines that are taken right from tree bark or leaves or roots. Always have additives and their strength is many times stronger than they were naturally. Causing a chance of death from overdose or many other problems from side effects.
Yet if I have a bad headache, boy do I want quick relief, NOW.
I have Meniers disease too. Not a lot has been done to help or cure the problem. I'm lucky mine isn't severe. There have been times I literally could not get off the sidewalk. And layed there for hours, embarrassed by passer byes. But taking a very small pill to help with my equilibrium has been a God send.
The great thing about medication, is the quick relief we receive.
But taking vitamins and herbs can help too. But they are never a quick fix.
So like I said, people want a magic pill that fixes us now, not later.
Oh, and the Common Cold? Well they found vaccines for roughly 2000 "Common Colds". But since its a virus like influenza or HIV. It constantly is mutating. Last I read a few years back. The Common Cold had approximately....... 52,000 strains. So if they created vaccines for about 2000. Well heck! Only 50,000 more to go. And that's as long as they don't mutate again while they are working on new viruses!

Different strokes for different folks.
