Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
Since, i am not educated in that manner, I don't have the exact scientific definition for these above mentioned conditioned responses.
I can do a negative response or anticipation.
I loved Eternity cologne. That scent became an important part of my recovery.
My son gave me my very first bottle of this cologne.
As time passed, my son's mother in law arrived in our lives.
She is an obnoxious, controlling witch of a woman who I deeply dislike.
I stopped using that cologne, because she frequently announces it is her signature fragrance.
Everyone associates it with her.
So, now when I smell Eternity, I think...where the hell is that woman??...and up go the force shields.
For some time now, I have been working on taking this fragrance back for me and me alone.
I am working on disconnection of this association and conjuring up something more positive.
But, I do wholehearted understand.
Whenever I used to smell Chantilly cologne, I would soften with loving anticipation. My grandmother used that scent all the time. For a certain time frame in my life, there was a chance that she was right around the corner. Yes, I was filled with joyfulness.
I don't think this weird at all.
How about names? Have you ever had a really terrible experience with someone you dislike very much ?
Or, perhaps you were around a person that you disliked because of certain exhibited behaviors.
Afterwards, whenever you hear the name, you immediately conjure up the animosity for those in the past that had the same name.
It happens to me.
To GoodGod, your revelations fascinate me, and I have experience this with the name of "Thomas". Sadly the bearers of this Christian name can expect passive hostility at beast from me. I do wish it was otherwise, but former bearers of this name have bitterly disappointed me to the point that I have to fight against the subtile animosity behind this name.
I always associate Lancome with Isabella Rossalini. (spelling?)
