I use to be the same way but I found a hobby in exercise. I started running every day. I was so out of shape that I could only go the distance between two telephone poles but I kept adding poles whenever I felt I could go further. 20 years later, I finished a marathon.

If you have no hobbie or interest to sink your passion into, try a dating site to meet like minded people of the opposite sex or same sex if that is your interest. They have dating sites for all kinds of different people. All you have to do is google it.

I found that the secret to getting and maintaining new friends is to always be positive and upbeat. Would you enjoy hanging around a sad despondent person? There ya go!

I am pretty positive, do water aerobics 4 times a week and have lots of friends. Thanks for your response. I don't like the dating sites, have not been lucky with them but will keep busy as I usually am. thanks again.

Water aerobics is one of the best exercises on the planet. I can't swim so I stay away from pool exercises.

I am sorry you lost your mom. I don't know what your spiritual beliefs are but I have lost both my parents and I was very close to each of them but I still feel like they are near me and haven't gone anywhere. I have photos of them and I talk to them almost every day and that has really helped me to deal with my loss.

We all have bad days once in awhile because life is a series of ups and downs. We just need to learn how to deal with the down days.

I am so sorry, I lost my mom a long time ago, and never had a dad to speak of. My life went on, but it was a hole that will never be filled.

Big Hugs Jazz! I can relate all to well. I have been on a break from this sight, but stop in from time to time. In 15 months I burred my only brother, grandfather, father, and mother and my beloved Labrador got out of the fence and hit by a car and killed 2 months after my brother died.

I was a tearable mess and 5 years later am still morning. I have my aunt (dad's sister) and that is the only family I have with the exception of my sons ( one of them only talks to me when he needs something and I share custody of the other) and new wife. Even with them in my life I still feel hollow and they don't really understand the loss I feel. My relatives on my mothers side let greed take over so I have no use for them as they showed their true colors.

I am sorry for the loss of your mom.My Dad passed 2 years ago in my dining room. Even know we knew it was the end, the emptiness is so pronounced and hard to describe. Water aerobics is good therapy. I talk to my Dad once in a while. I know he still is with me. I hope you find comfort in the good memories you shared with your mom.

I'm sorry for your loss. I think even if you're surrounded by 100 people, you would still be feeling lonely because the loss of your mother. You will just have the acknowledge that loss...and go thru the difficult emotions of grieving and losing that support aspect in your life.

Friends are there...but a mother's role is a big shoes to fill.

I believe in life after death. I also think that our loved ones are always around us in a different capacity watching over us. I am sure that's what your mother is doing for you now.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your mother!*hugs* I lost my mother in 2011 and wasn't close to anyone else in my family. I don't know my father nor his side of the family. My Uncles and a couple of cousins live in the same city as I do but I never see them. Friends live in another country. I have online friends and my boyfriend. My mother's death left a hole in my life that can never be filled. My son lives with his Dad in the US and I'm in Canada.
