Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
I think much of this stress about leaving things undone has to do with our perfectionistic ideals. We also don't like to see clutter as it grates against our senses. Hope this helps.
When you describe "doing things right away" I am envious! My energy, attitude, life interferes, but thats really who I want to be, just like you.
Im sure you are posting this because the urgency to complete tasks is out of proportion with what it should be. Maybe you have an unhealthy compulsion about it.
You could consult a psychologist about desensitization exercises. Like leaving dishes undone for a length of time, then do them. Then you could lengthen the time you leave them alone.
Or we could switch homes for a while. haha We could learn from one another!
if i don't do the dishes right away, and let them build up, i become discouraged and depressed and am unable to do them at all... so i know that this is a danger if i don't stay on top of things... i live in a very small RV and it doesn't take much to depress me in such a way... so yes, i get stressed about things undone....
I have left the dishes alone for a short time but I always end up doing them. Some of the places that we are looking at have dishwashers. That would be nice. They could pile up in the dishwasher but I wouldn't have to see them! lol
