Is there anyone in your class that you can work with or get advice? If not, just try to take babysteps and do what you can to get started and to build confidence. Don't give up. Also, talk to your professor (email if that's easier) tell him/her the situation (don't be embarrassed- it's their job to help you- ask questions) Also, if you want to give more details on this project maybe we can help. You're not alone.

I also wanted to say that once you tackle this, you'll feel a real sense of accomplishment. You can do this!

I agree with Zakki, speak to your tutor or someone in your class. Or maybe the college librarian, they can usually suggest ways of tackling a question especially if they are a librarian for that particular subject. Also many colleges run courses in study skills and organisation so you can learn these general skills which are often not covered elsewhere. If yours doesn't, you may be able to find a course online.

When you say college, do you mean university or another sort of college?

Maybe you could work on the project for like say a half hour then take a break, every hour take 15 minutes or so to work on it then stop.I think that we think we are incapable because we look at the whole project and it seems so overwhelming. But if we take it step by step or take breaks then maybe we can feel that we are accomplishing something towards the goal.
Is there someone that could help you by going over this with you?
Can you ask the college for help?

A friend told me this just last night-make a "rough draft" of your project quickly without worry about making mistakes, then take a break -then go back to see how you can refine it.

All this pressure will only make it worse on you. Take it step by step, give yourself time to just not have to think about it.

As far as the social pressure, and people who judge, ask yourself, does it really matter what they think? Are they making you feel bad when they really have no control over your life if you do not let them? They are not living your life, you are. try to not let them overwhelm you.

Look over your options, your choices that you can do.

Ask for help, take breaks, believe in yourself-you have come this far! Those overwhelming feelings can pass, let them. Give yourself time as much as possible to finish. I believe in you.

Thank you all, so much for your encouragements. Yeah, university is quite overwhelming and I tend to take stress too much. I know it's not good, but what to do. It just occurs naturally to me. When I am unable to do something, the only option there is for me is to run away..let everything be..it has just been like that..
though, I have successfully dealt with failure but this time the issue is bigger in complexity to the point that I have no clue what to do, where to seek more help...it seems that all the help I had was not enough..it really is a desperate situation.

dreamyHope-the help you had was not enough? Please dont give up, take a break, maybe another option will come to you. Hide for awhile if you need to then regroup, try another look at all this, or ask another for advice someone that you can talk with? Is there a counseling office at the university? Ask other students if they know any where to go?

hi bookworm, yeah it really helps to dismiss from some responsibility that is stress for a while but when you get back, it all starts over again. Anyway, I guess that is called life and has to abide by its "tides".
