Hi Im a Hair Puller.. Community Group
Welcome to "Hi, I'm a Hair Puller.." a new community for fellow trichotillomania sufferers to come and share their story. Everyone has a unique journey down this path of hair-pulling. Come in and share your experiences.
Thank you for taking the time and courage to share your story with us! I believe that we each have unique stories to tell and in our trichotillomania disorder's case, sharing these personal stories is very therapeutic. Recovery is possible and will happen. It may take a week, a year or an entire lifetime of fighting but never let-go of overcoming this disorder. On that same note, I've personally gone a year without pulling from both my eyelashes and eyebrows then one day I began to pull again until I had no eyebrows and no eyelashes. I still remember my self-esteem literally washing away from my body. I felt ashamed that I had given into this disorder and vulnerable to ctitcism from anyone about my plucking. Where I'm going with this is that relapse pullings happen to some, not all. If you find yourself in this situation just pick yourself up, dust off your pants and remind yourself that tomorrow is a "new day #1" and just start over again. This can be a seemingly relentless cycle but at some point the cycle is bound to break.
I wish you the best of luck with your new hair growth. Recovery is probable and inevitable.
Best Wishes,
TrichyMom
