helping with the housework Community Group
this is a group for those of us who are challenged by getting things around the house done....come tell us what has to be done and get support to and motivation to get that task done and brag about what you have gotten done daily! It is hard for some of us to begin an easy chore but when we are doing them and get them done do you not feel like telling someone? I do!

OK i'm OUTing myself. What i'm writing is a very sensitive issue so i hope i don't get mock or shamed as i am already ashamed myself. OK when i was growing up my mom got very sick and we were no help so we had a very very messy house, Housework is not my strong suit. When i was working i used to pay my cuz to clean for me, now i am not working and can't anymore, anyway i have a small apt but i can't seem to keep it clean, there is always something, then i was put on heavy anti anxiety med's and anti depressant that are very sedative. So for about a month or so i haven't been keeping up with the housework and it makes me sick and i can't hardly think a whole sentence, so i am a slob i guess. It's gotten so bad that i don't even know where to start, i usually start w' the dishes, then i'm tired. I also have alot of JUNK. I'm on the 3rd floor w' no elevator so thing's have a way of making it up the stairs and never back down them. My son tries to pitch in but he say's MOM YOU ARE A TORNADO. So in closing i suck at housework and it show's. I'm hoping to get some advice or know how other people keep there place clean. Thank you for having me in your group. Hug's to you all.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

My suggestion is to start with small tasks. Perhaps look at the JUNK...each week or each day if you can handle it...throw something away or put it in a bag/box for a charity shop such as Goodwill. It can be one thing or a half dozen things. Yesterday I put 2 vases in the charity box. That was it just 2 items out of my house.
Perhaps in the cleaning of the house just keep the dishes done. I find if I do them after each meal no matter how few I have I enjoy the empty sink. It took me at least 3 months to get that habit formed though...it did not happen over night and I was not a success every day.
It is a fun group and we help each other to get things done...some of us need to get things done and other people need to gain control over a never ending mess of stuff...we do not care with how it looks at home...we want to help you make it so looking around does not hurt any more...
Right now my dishes are in desperate situation....it is overwhelming in kitchen...I have not yet run out of dishes but run out of space to put the dirty ones..LOL
I even have dishwasher on wheels that I move in and out to places in kitchen..it acts as a floating pile...LOL I do have clean dishes in it for a week or more now....and that is why the dirty haven't gotten clean...I haven't emptied it and haven't gotten that bug up my arse to empty it...but today is the day...I am off from working today because of side effect to medicine I am taking which keeping me from driving right now...so no work as I teach driving right? LOL
I will empty my dishwasher and then begin to refill as soon as it is empty I know my pattern...once it is full not all dishes might fit...so the rest will go into hiding or in sink....and I will run dishwasher full....then if dishes are hiding the dishwasher gets emptied again and reloaded with whichever things are left....then probably rerun the dishes again...I have all day right? LOL
One thing nobody here mentioned to help you out....got a timer? even if the timer on microwave or your oven? use it!!!! Set 15mins on timer and just work 15 mins then quit and take a cup of coffee or soda or just water...then you got fifteen minutes work done and you can rest the entire day now....or set another 15 mins and just do something like your dishes for that next 15mins....it helps to be using the chunking method...just 15min chuncks....LOL
Hopefully you grow a bit in how to clean and that your place starts to shine and make you smile....hugs bill
it is good you shared...continue to share...I have found so much help here....I am not young...and am finding these lifetime events of mine to say the least interesting.....I do know what you are going thru....
I am truly excited you joined...and taking the advise of baby steps....each day take a baby step...we are here so come back and share each step with us....and somedays there might be no steps but we are still here and want to share....its all ok......
I will tell you that dirty windows drive me bananas...dishes in the sink - not so much.
We all welcome you and it is a journey not a race.
