helping with the housework Community Group
this is a group for those of us who are challenged by getting things around the house done....come tell us what has to be done and get support to and motivation to get that task done and brag about what you have gotten done daily! It is hard for some of us to begin an easy chore but when we are doing them and get them done do you not feel like telling someone? I do!

According to the instructions it should be grounded.....and I bought wire to ground it with but just learning tonight at Bebe's that grounding copper posts are at least 8ft long and get hammered into the ground.....I was looking for a grounding post and did not know they would be that long....Lowes had a 96 inch one....I think that is 8feet....anyway Bebe got one for me from the company that her deceased husband used to work for.....saves me about $15.....I wanted to know how many feet it needed to be hammered into ground and it says online 8ft....so this thing will need me standing on a ladder to hammer it into the ground....
I am keeping the generator in the shed I have which is a heavy tarpolion type of cloth over a metal frame and has a zipper door that can be opened when I need to run the generator....so I guess I am going to hammer that rod into the ground right outside the shed and wire running to it to ground the generator....
it would be nice if I could run the generator power into my breaker box and I have an electrician to do what is needed to install the interceptor piece that would need to be put in.....I am just not sure how much power the generator can give to the house....I am sure I cannot run everything....the generator is 8000 continuous watts running with 10,000 starting watts.....
I will be talking to my electrician to see if he can tell me how much it takes to run the furnace fan and my AC unit for in summer months and furnace fan and the things like refrigerators X2 and some lights in house plus my stereo or tv.....using the tv is not necessary and I would need some kind of voltage protector on it.....but I like having music in house...and it would drowned out the roaring of the generator out in back yard.....using it to keep the refrigerator on is most important and can be done just with extension chords....since there are two refrigerators.....
if my electrician says not trying to run it thru the breaker box I guess I will just be using extension chords.....

Have you ever read a book that made you want to travel somewhere? (And if so, did you ever actually travel there?)

I also want to get a generator for my house that would be able to support at least the most important things working for as long as possible. The economy is shattered now, and I just want to be prepared if something happens. Better safe than sorry, you know.
I think I know a guy who graduated from https://www.electricianclasses.com/ and will ask him what he thinks about this idea. He should know better how much power I would need for several lightbulbs and sockets. I just need to charge the devices and have some light in case of an emergency.
