This group aims to gently help people decide about leaving or staying in their abusive relationship. This support covers whatever is needed to help the person be ready and able to go or stay; to actually make that decision and be confident it is the right one. The decision is a personal one and nobody can tell anyone what to do. We can only be with another person and help...
It has only been 2 weeks but I really don't think I'll go back (for the 8th time). It can take that many times on average for abusive (emotionally abusive) relationships like these, typically.
I just wish I'd not waited until it became so grueling and painful, and how I really don't want anything to do w/ him. I caught him in a big lie, one of probably more than I realize. That is what it took for me on top of the abuse to say, no thank you, and to detatch, hopefully w/ love.
So now instead of seeing the red flags and POTENTIAL for an unhealthy relationship, I had to let myself LIVE through it, ADAPT to it, and SUFFER from it. I wish I'd saved myself the pain and torment and realize, I don't NEED him to have a good life.
There's some anger, sadness, loss, disappointment, worry.
Thanks for being here. Staying strong and staying away. Last 4th of July with him was horrendous. Glad I am free from that drama now. Now I just need to learn to live with the serenity and heal from the abuse.

Glad you aren't having another 4th of July being treated badly and feeling as if it is horrendous.

It took honoring my feelings as being as valid as his, and even moreso, since I really have no control over his feelings, and I'm not responsible for his feelings especially if he is not being straight with me in a major way. That is the ultimate deal breaker for me.
