Hi ILIKECAKE...I lost my brother and dad in the past 5 years and I HAVE gotten signs. It wasnt right away though. It may take awhile for your mom to come through. It may be a subtle as her smell or as strong as her moving something. Just keep your eyes and ears open at all times. I talked to my dad and brother all the time and I do get responses at a later date...dont rush it...they're settling into THEIR new world, so have patience and talk to her....she hears you!

You just missed the signs thats all. Remember that song on the radio last week that was one of her favorites? Remember that carton of ice cream you bought (and had not bought for ages) the same flavor she always bought for you as a kid? Remember that green top you picked out when blue is your favorite color and green was hers? What about that feeling last night when you were doing the dishes, like someone was making the job easier? Guess what? THAT WAS MOM! How do I know? I lost my Mummy on the 19th of Dec 2009 and my hubby on 17 Mar 2010. I could tell you so many "Hello's from Heaven" from my husband that I would still be writing this time next week. Oh, and don''t forget to talk to her, she is listening. They haven't gotten to the point we have cell phones or emails to heaven, but there really is ADC (After Death Communication).

Hi, from London. It's 4.35am and I am really absorbed in reading peoples's experiences in this group. 6 years ago, yesterday, my only son Daniel - my whole world and reason for living, died in my arms from brain tumours in the room I am sitting in right now. He was 8 years old and my life collapsed. I've just come out of a two week depression where I really had to feel my feelings and I wanted to die. During times like this, I lose faith that there is a loving God, heaven and that I will be with Daniel there one day. This disconnectedness and loss of what keeps me going is utter hell and throughout this time, I pleaded with God, raged at Him and begged Him and Daniel to PLEASE show me that God and heaven do indeed exist and that I will be with Daniel one day. Well, maybe this site and your posting Ilikecake, IS God and Daniel affirming that of course they're there. I have experienced many similar things - there CAN'T be nothing when we die! I don't know and don't suppose I'll be allowed to come back and reassure you all after I've passed on... You, and the others I've read are giving me hope - THANK YOU!! I'm new to the internet and this is my first posting on this site. I hope somebody will get back to me - it would be so, so wonderful to not feel so alone in my grief and questions and anger. There's a lot more I'd like to eventually share, not least that I too, have struggled with chronic and severe depression for most of my adult life - exacerbated by my son's passing. (I have difficulty using the word death). Anyway Ilikecake, I desparetely wanted to die after Daniel went, but I'm still here. Still a bereaved single mother, but now have a very lively and lovable 4 year old son, who knows about his big brother in heaven. Also, friends tell me that when they're low, they think of me and Daniel and are inspired to carry on. They say I'm brave, but I don't feel like a courageous woman. I continue to live, and strive for inner peace and to reach out to others who are in pain, to honour my son. Maybe this is God's work..? I still suffer though, and this anniversary has felt like the hardest yet and I get angry coz I think "God, haven't I learnt enough through my loved ones dying and various other difficulties, WHY do I have to still grieve and want to die because I feel so depressed? Give me a break!" But I think God cries with me and He and Daniel understand and are tolererant of my bad times. You are not alone in this Ilikecake, coz I really related to what you said and can understand your bewilderment and frustration. I want Daniel to appear before me and TELL me that he loves me and is looking forward to the day we can be together again - such is the nature of grief. Rest easy hon - I feel for what you're going through but I won't give you any platitudes or answers, as I have no answers. I just want you to know that I'm thinking of you. If your in any kind of turmoil, they can't get thru to us and your mom will come thru to you when least expected. you'll be doing something and boommmm you'll see the signs. maybe she is sending you signs and your missing them. don't give up, she hasn't given up with you, she's just waiting for the right time. I know what your feeling because i feel my mom doesn't send me any signs either but i am upset and maybe i'm just bypassing them. june 9th will be 3 years for my mom and i feel like she's forgotten about me because i, too, am not getting any signs like i used to from her BUT i'm not giving up, when least expected it will happen. tc

Although my Mom came through the 1st time to me 2 weeks after she crossed over and it was a huge event and visitation (which I will share soon) please know your Mom will not and can not ever forget you! It's different for everyone on when they can come visit us! Those crossing over and those still on this side of the veil each has their own unique occurance. Don't forget there is orientation (sort to speak) once you cross over! Different experience(s) for different souls. Some souls are more relaxed and ready, while others are not! Some are newer souls and some are not! Depending on their level (yes there are many levels there) and their knowledge...a visitation may not be possible quite yet. I hope this makes sense. It is hard for me to explain, but am doing my best with what I have learned through the years about this fascinating topic! Life after life! There is no death and your Mom is more ALIVE than you and I actually! She loves you even moreso on the other side and most likely will come to you in many ways! Just pay attention! From manipulating butterflies to birds...to smells that remind you of her! She may show up as an orb in a picture or sit on your bed as you sleep. Just know our loved ones love us unconditionally whether we want to believe that fact or not!

WeDontDie - your comment is so very true and everything you say in there. Sometimes they are sending signs to us but we're not noticing them because we're so upset etc. when we're relaxed and least expected, signs will come in so strong and you won't be imagining it either because a SPIRITUAL SIGN you can't ever forget its like GLUE it will stick with you forever. that's the only way I can seem to express those SPIRITUAL SIGNS. Once you get them, you don't EVER forget them.

I am reading an interesting book by Harry Edwards a spiritual healer and medium...we cannot necessarily communicate with the dead...a guide or medium may be needed until you develop your own skills,
Be clear with your mom about what you are looking for....verbal, visual signs.,talk to her when you are quiet and calm. Life here on earth throws lots of interference....give it time and look for small signs,,,,,I also think that souls provide signs when they are closest to the earth...not long after death...they may be recuperating but most likely want to communicate and comfort you.
Ask for a guide to act as a medium Don't give up...your mom is there she is unable to communicate...have patience and visit the harry edwards site

When read your post, saw right away why you say you haven't got any signs. ou said you were so down, that's why, they can't get thru. guarantee she will get thru to you. Have you ever got the feather? that's one sign that they are okay and with us. when least expected, it happens. when my mom passed someone said to me did you get the feather? I said no, I don't know anything about the feather. She said, when least expected, you'll see a feather around and I have many times. When we're uptight in any way, they can't get thru to us but she will. I know it, you'll see. GOD BLESS YOU and HELP YOU AT THIS TIME OF SORROW.
