A couple of weeks ago, I was in the hospital for a very serious surgery. I had adhesions that had caused me to have a bowel obstruction. The pain is so great, I was so sick and I had to have surgery. This can be a fatal thing if you don't get it fixed and they have to do explorative surgery. After three days of testing, I was sent to the operating room for my major surgery. I did not want to be in the hospital, the last time was when Kenny passed away So of course I talked about him a lot, even when I came out of surgery and they were taking the vent out of me, I remember thinking or yelling No No that is how my son died. It wasn't but it just was every thing combined.
After my surgery, my son Kenny was with me in my room every night, It was like he was on the ceiling in front of me, still in his hopital gown, but like leaning on his hand propped up on a cloud. I could see him as if he was sitting in my room with me. We communicated...I don't think words were really said but I conveyed to Ken, why didn't I go first, mom's go before their children and he kept conveying to me that God had something he wanted me to do. This experience went on 7 nights, all night. I had such a soothing, calming feeling even though I was in much pain. But he would not tell me what God wanted me to do.
Finally, after 11 days in the hospital I went home and have shared this experience with some of my family, friends and with my pastor, which everyone said what a wonderful experience. But my response has been, "But I don't know what God wants me to do...my pastor said you just have to pray about it and in time God will let you know....On this last Sunday, I found out what it is I am to do. My mom is no longer able to take care of herself and has been put in a nursing home. I finally got to go visit her Sunday. After our visit, which I did not know how to bring it up to my husband and God was still working on this project, my husband spoke first and said " Sandi, you know we have to bring your mom home with us, she is not going to live in a place like this when we can offer her a home." I responed "I know" So the ball started rolling...Yesterday we went to talk to mom and in next month mom will be coming to make our home her home.
Thanks to God and to my wonderful who delivered my messages to me every night in the hospital, that God still had plans for me to take care of something. I love you God and I love you Kenny. I loved you being with me in the hospital every night....I miss you and someday we will be together again. I am so happy that that horrible CANCER is gone and you are no longer in pain,,,,but I wish you could have stayed with us and been healthy...but God has the plans, we just have to listen.

I wish I could have had that experience with my husband. I feel bad that you had to have surgery and I am so glad that you are better, and I am so happy for you to have seen your son. I am just trying to get through another day and wishing that I could have communication with my husband that passed away unexpectedly on Feb 2, 2010. I need to know what my purpose is. I know that it is to raise my children, yet I feel so alone at times it is unbearable. Thanks for sharing the story and I hope that your Mom is well, and what a wonderful thing to do for her. You will be blessed in a very big way. Hugs~Shelley

A very powerful experience, Sandi! I know you've been in a great deal of pain on and off for quite a while. I hope this surgery took care of the problem, and that having yur mom come to live with you will work out for everyone's benefit. Hugs, Cherie
