Just a quick update. My daughter seems to have turned a corner. Both her therapist and her agree she should move out. I’m sad to see her go but I also know it’s the best for her. Being in this house is a trigger every day and she is still unable after 2 years to walk into part of the house where the assault happened. Now that she has secured an apartment for herself in the city her mood seems to have improved greatly and she finally got a full time job in her industry doing what she went to school for. I’m so happy for her and proud at how far she’s come.
I took her to Vancouver Island this past week to spend some mommy daughter time together. We had a great time and I even booked her a 3 hour workshop with a trauma specialist who does holistic counseling. We both learned tapping. It was super helpful and quite unique but I think it’s exactly what she needed - even if I was a bit skeptical before. She loved it!
With her moving out and getting on with her life I’m really hoping this will open the door for my son to spend more time with us. Since my daughter does not want to see him or have anything to do with him I can’t invite him over at all. I’m hoping this will change things. I know you had said your daughter moved and started college and how proud you were of her so just wanted to update yo- guess I’m too losing another. So proud of her!!!
