I am still ssick with Whooping cough and told it could last months. It's been over 6 weeks of coughing all day, not being able to take a full breath. Too tired to go to the gym (which for me is unheard of. ) And what I learned is -- I can do treatment. The thing I was scared of -- being too sick to take care of myself the ways I'm used to (exercise, meditation, etc) has come to pass and I was able to surrender to it (Not that I have a choice.) Still able to go to work, be present with my husband, and mother my kids, which is the only thing that really matters. IF I were on treatment, I'd be halfway done now. And from what people say on the main board, they either have no sides or fatigue and anemia. It seems so doable now. I am feeling confident that if I'm able to wait the year or two for these 12 week oral treatments, it really won't be so bad.
I think so too. I think that if your diet is good and your health is good, you will have a good experience, although it will be hard, not as hard as those on the standard diet of junk. Tx has been known to cause thyroid problems, but Dr Fuhrman says they can be fixed with diet, so I would think a good diet to start with would prevent Hashimoto's from happening.
Much as I don't like antibiotics, if someone had told me when I first got sick that my choice was a week of antibiotics (and a $20 copay) or two months plus of this, it would hav e been a no brainer. But I waited so long to see a dr. and shelled out $200 bucks. My homeopath does prescribe antibiotics when he thinks they're the right choice4 (always for LYme) so I'm going to trust there's a reason he didn't this time.
I hope you feel better soon...... As someone 5 wks into triple tx with incivik, I can say for sure treatment brings gifts, important life lessons, as well as suffering and overall crappiness (for lack of a more poetic word).
I am learning to lean on others when I need them (never my strong suit-- I am the caregiver), I am learning to accept my limits. I am learning to say no to all but what is most essential--- my priorities are crystal clear..... I am learning to mine each moment for the silver lining that is there if only I am awake and looking--- the sun glinting off the pines as I look out the window, somehow having slept for a couple of hours at a stretch, freinds who are so helpful and there for me..... tx is not fun but there is beauty in it, like everything else. you can do it if you choose..... I have been coughing since i started-- persistent post nasal drip that is highly annoying and exhausting.... hoping to figure out how to evict is soon! take care
Really, it should be done?(I wish it would be!!!!) I guess I wasn't sure because I read that it can last for months, so I thought maybe that was even w/antiobiotics. My cousin had something else, but she took an antibiotic and still coughed over a month. I'm supposed to call my homeopath tomorrow -- I'll ask him. If an antibiotic would clear it up quickly, I'm ready.
And Barb, you are so strong! I really admire people who can make it through Triple for a year being positive (When I imagine tx, I imagine the new 12 week regimes.) I send you support.
Thanks for the info. What a drag. I do have periods of feeling sorry for myself, but they don't last long. My kids are tired of seeing me weak and sick as well. I had to promise that I will get better and be their healthy mommy again. And I know my husband misses his alert partner.
