We adopted!!!!!! We'd decided on a grown dog to avoid all the work of a puppy. And my husband said no beagles, they howl. So somehow after 3 shelters we ended up with a 3 month puppy, brindle, some pitt. After we fell in love with her, the shelter people said she's part beagle. The universe has a sense of humor. I was planning to hike with our dog but it will have to wait 'til she's had her shots and been dewormed. We're having fun playing in the yard.

did the shelter have her spayed? Can't wait to see pictures! congratulations on your new dog!

I have never been much of a pet person, although my son dumped his 2 cats on me when he went through a divorce. They were the weirdest cats (like his ex), and I never bonded with them.

Anyway, a friend had a mini dachsund that I just fell in love with, and I made the statement that if I ever got a dog, it would be that breed. About 2 weeks later, my cousin posted pictures of mini-dachs on FB and said she was trying to sell the last 2 of the litter. I asked about price, and she said she would just GIVE me one! I couldn't resist, so I took him with the understanding that I could give him back if I couldn't make it work. (I'd never had a dog before) Well that was almost 3 years ago, and now I cannot imagine NOT having him! Things are as they should be. :-) But I learned a valuable lesson...be careful what you wish for; you might just get it!

Brigid, the premise is that the first Jesus is the historical rabbi, the second is the Jesus the church created to "sell" religion, and the third, the "real" Jesus.

being without a pet is unthinkable to me, l have been breeding and trainig german sheperd gods for years. Because of my health i had to slow doww, raisng the ups for new homes was such a blast. we would crate train them and take them to the park to play with kids and stangers. socioalize them like creazy, alot of the pupies were imported all over the stated. it was so rewarding. now we are down from 7 to 2. the rest went to doggy heaven and we burried them all in the apple trees. can remember each one like it was yerterday. I truly believe they will be ther when we get to heaven. One scripture in the talks of heaven where the lions will lay be the lambs. It might be just an alagory but i will stcik with it. I have 2 solid black german sheperds now. one is from east germany and the other fom chekozevockia (can't spell it)
