I was sent a book called "medical Medium" and in the first chapter he says that what underlies Hep C and lyme disease both of which I had is Epstein Barr Virus .. I would have thought that to be kookie until the same week I had lots of blood work done and I came up negative for everything but EBV in the form of mono... Now it's not so kookie.. I will be doing what he suggests to get well. I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to drop in and let you all know about this very interesting finding
Wow i hear mono is hard to live with. So glad you know what you are fighting. I think that is half the battle. What are your symptoms and how are you fighting this.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'underlies" I had Hep C since probably 1972 and never had any problems with EBV symptoms.
From Merck Manuals, "(Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) Infection) Epstein-Barr virus causes a number of diseases, including infectious mononucleosis. The infection is spread through kissing or other close contact with an infected person. Symptoms vary, but the most common are extreme fatigue, fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes."
Now the one thing I did get several times was tonsillitis. Also fever blisters which is Herpes I. The only time I got extreme fatigue was when I reached menopause and the HCV virus and stress beat me up, but I was able to reverse that with diet, juicing, coffee enemas and vitamin C drinks.
Any way I am so sorry to hear you have mono, I remember someone getting that when I was in high school and how it knocked her out. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Dr Cathcart, who wrote the paper about vitamin C titration, recommends for mononucleosis to take 150 - 200+ grams of vitamin C in 12 - 25 doses per day to knock it out. You can read the article here.
The reasoning for C is sound. Disease causes scurvy in the body, it uses vitamin C in massive amounts. Taking 200 grams, 7 oz a day, it would need to be buffered with calcium, potassium, and magnesium. That would be 8 grams per hour. I would probably mix it in my Kombucha and fruit drinks if it were me, which is what I'm doing right now, taking about 5 grams in a peach kombucha as I woke up with a dripping nose from the church dinner last night. Either the food or the germs, or both. :-)
I don't really have symptoms other than neurotoxins from lyme and general fatigue. I was just letting you know about the book. I can't explain it .. just incredible synchronicity .(getting the blood test results and finding his book).. I am following his diet .. mainly raw fruit and vegetables which I do anyway. The author says that this virus is epidemic and is at the root of why we fall victim to other problems. By the way a certain percentage of people actually clear Hep C when exposed. I know it's low but it does happen . it's higher in women.
I suppose the information was for me only ,, just thought I'd share.
I did have mono in high school
I don't have ACUTE mono. I was positive for a viral load I guess
one day at a time.
happy to be alive
thinking of you all with good wishes!!!
