It's from an ancient sea bed and is a pinkish orange color. Mostly white, but it's called Real Salt. It's just like the Himalayan salt they want your last dime for....LOL, but not as expensive. I buy a 25 pound box from my local coop every couple years or so, for $45. It's about $6-7 a package at most of our grocery stores that are chain stores. I think that package is 26 oz. I finally got a friend of mine who is cheap cheap cheap to get a bag. He really likes it.
Read the testimonials. This is the salt they make salt licks for cattle from. Those big orangy blocks are Real Salt. It's loaded with essential minerals, which our bodies need to be healthy.
I've looked locally for this but haven't found it yet. Maybe the web site will reveal vendors near me. Or go to southern States & buy a salt lick, LOL!
Yep, lol, they showed no retailers near me and I can think of about 10 stores close by that carry it. Harmon's had a huge rock on display for awhile, I wanted to take it home! LOL Harmon's is a local grocery chain.
The sodium in Real Salt is buffered by the other minerals. This is what makes it different, it is a mineral supplement and a salt. And it's good for you.
Read the testimonials. It does not raise blood pressure.
I am sure it is good for you. I read the site. I know my kosher salt is better than table salt and around 200 mg.less sodium per tsp .I am assuming this salt has around the same sodium level my kosher does I keep for company. My GI has me on a 2000mg of sodium per day.
I get my minerals from my supplements and especially the liveaplex I take. I don't need sodium for minerals. What sodium my doctors has me on is enough for the iodine my body needs. I never use any kind of extra salt in cooking or add it to food.after cooked. I use also salt a salt substitut for that. Many salt their food so much they go over or close to the limit they need each day for sodium. Not only does it make fluid retnetion worse salt is bad for portal hypertention. My Unlce had had strokes and heart problems and his sodium level is 600 m.g. per day. That would be dang hard.
It's salt without any additives, but it is still refined. Which means only one mineral, sodium chloride. Check into Real Salt, Panda Baby. It can be used by people with high blood pressure. It won't raise it.
Real Salt, because it has other minerals besides sodium, has less sodium than table salt. If you weigh kosher and table salt, they have the same amount of sodium, according to googled sites I visited. Also, most people, even if they threw away the salt shaker, would still be overdosing on sodium from packaged foods. That was on a site I googled. I've read ingredient labels and I agree.
I get my iodine from seaweeds. My favorite is dulse flakes. I add that to Real Salt and also add some no-salt mixed herbal seasoning. about 1/3 volune of each. Shake it up and put it into a shaker bottle with a good tight lid. Real Salt tends to clump a bit if exposed to moisture.
The best natural source for iodine by far is kelp, but kelp is very strong tasting. I feed it to my dogs, in the homemade food they get. I also buy kelp in 50 pound bags and toss it around in my garden, and it makes everything taste better by adding minerals to the soil.
Sodium clorhide is salt. Made from salt wate like the sea or salt rock. I keep count of my daily intake of salt by the mg. The kosher salt I use is morton which if you look at the ingriedients does have less sodium than

Table salt is refined. That's why it's bad for you.
