One evening in 1997 (same year the strange lights appeared over Phoenix) we were watching TV. I was sitting across from a large window through which I could see most of our 7-acre yard. I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and when I looked toward the window I saw a very large object hovering over our yard. I remember it was very long with only a few lights. It was dark but the object gave off a very slight glow--just enough to see the outline of it. It moved from side to side and then very slowly approached the house. Hubby and I ran into the yard and the object very slowly flew or floated over the house. It had only a few small lights and, looking up at it, it was shaped like a large triangle. And the strangest thing is that there was absolutely no sound. Nothing. It seemed like it took about 20 minutes to slowly fly over our property. The only thing we could think of was some kind of stealth plane but it didn't resemble those either. I remember we talked about it a long time. Now the really strange thing is that we cannot remember what time of year it was, what time of night it happened, or any other details other than it was a big triangle with a few lights that seemed to float. It all seems very surreal now. And we haven't told anyone about it for some reason (except for now as I am writing this).
In the springtime the following year, one of our neighbor boys, a teenager, came back to ask permission to go mushroom hunting on our property. We sat and chatted with him for a while and hubby asked him if he and his little brother still did much camping behind their house. What he said next gave us chills. He told us that he and his brother were camping behind their house one evening the previous fall. They could see our house from their campsite. As they sat around the fire, they saw three blue balls of light hovering over our house, almost touching the roof. They floated there for a little while and then quickly shot straight up into the sky and disappeared. He said they were terrified and hadn't camped out since then.
We don't know what to make of this. Nothing has happened since. I should add that our property is located in military air traffic and there is a military base about 70-80 miles from our home. We can only wonder if that has anything to do with it. There was nothing in our local paper about it so either no one else saw it or, like us, no one wanted to tell about it.

When the raid on Osama Bin Lodens compound we lost a top secret heli, a black one. I have always wondered when we would finally get to see it.
But my sister and I did have an experience, one very cold night in December. (I might have written about this before; please forgive me if I'm repeating myself.) I was about 17, and we'd just returned home after a day-long marathon of Christmas shopping. The temperature was so cold, the snow made that squeeking-crunching sound under our feet. It was a crystal-clear night, as well.
But before we ever got out of the car, we were surprised to see three bright lights in the distance, probably about 2 miles away; the lights hovered there, red, green, and yellow. At first, I thought perhaps a farmer across the river had hung some Christmas decorations on a windmill. But the lights were sort of hovering, not really stationary. And truthfullly, from that distance, that would have had to have been SOME GIANT windmill.
In stunned silence, we both watched as suddenly all the lights, whihc had remained in the same arrangement for at least a minute, did a dance---rotating rapidly, completely changing position and color. Then they began to receed slowly, away from our line of sight, and suddenly vanished completely.
Complete stunned silence ensued. And then I asked if if she just saw what I just saw. She said she did, and Hey wasn't it time for some hot cocoa, we must be delerious from not eating all day. She dashed in the house and left me to bring in all the bags.
Typical.
I know neither of us told our parents. My brother was no longer living at home, or I definitely would have told him about it, and we probably would have gone actually looking across the river for indications of what it could have been, the very next day.
That's it, for me.
I do think the possibility of it all scares me much more than ghosts do.
I think another thing that leaves me scratching my head is, why visit here? We're clearly much less evolved, if they can do those things and travel in such spectacular and efficient ways. To me, it would be like humans wishing to visit ant colonies.
I just don't think we're interesting enough to be studied in that way. I'm sure they would have much more interesting things to see than humans---the relative 'fleas' that we must seem to them.
Not saying they cannot exist, just trying to be logically relativistic about it.
I do tend to side with the military experiments explanation for many experiences people have.
I don't know what to think about UFOs either. Being a Christian in a religious family, I always argue that just because it's not in the Bible (unless you consider Ezekiel's wheel to have been a UFO), doesn't mean they don't exist. There's nothing in Genesis that says God created any other human's but he must have if Adam and Eve's children went to other cities to find wives. So why couldn't there be other planets with intelligent life? I've actually considered UFOs being chariots for the angels. With all the stuff going on in the world, why wouldn't God send them down to watch over us? Sorry to get deep and religious on you all but, believe me, I've thought about all the possibilities!
What creeps me out now is when I take my dog outside at night to do her business, 9 times out of 10 she'll go out in the middle of the yard and just sit and look straight up in the sky. I really hate when she does that LOL!
My siuster and I have not discussed it since then, because the one tme I asked her if she remembered it, she claimed it never happened and she didn't remember it AT ALL. A double denial. I took that to mean it was a forbidden topic. Quite normal for her, actually---happens a lot.
I only think about it occasionally. Like when it's EXCEEDINGLY cold in December.
