Hi everyone. My name is Vera and this is my first day here and I have created this group! I took this step forward because I really need to do something different in my life. There has been a number of changes in my life and have left me feeling ,quite frankly like I'm drowning . Being 46 and realizing I'm not as youthful is another contributing factor that seems to add to the the daily anxiety of not knowing what to do with myself now. There's days when I get out of bed and think what for .And that just isn't me. I don't know if there are many people that share the same feelings I do but if you'd like to chat I'll be here. Hope others will join. Thank you hope to hear from you.
Hi Vera. I totally understand a lot of your feelings. My divorce has left me feeling like I've become an amputee...like I'm here but looking at a major chunk of me is missing...and I'm sitting in the middle of nowhere alone in some weird way. OK, really I'm a very cheery and positive person but that's how odd this feeling is and with it comes the big question of what to do...as in do I/will I ever have contact with my ex, her kids, her family again.... how will others view me now... what do I do with my life as I poured most of my energy into my family when not gone at work... what's next for me...I'm well enough adjusted to know who I am as a single person yet I loved being married so much, that's really what I ultimately want again.... the questions go on and on! So yes, I know that drowning feeling too. I'm 48 and getting the same anxiety about my age and looks along with what else do I do with my life now. Heck I'm not the depressive type at all yet I've found myself sleeping entire days away for a number of reasons, some valid and others not so much. I'm trying to track my progress in every way-even with the over-sleeping and see tremendous progress but even if I clear up anything that remotely looks like depression or anxiety...what the heck do I do with myself next?
