I went in April 14, 2011 for a GB and that night I was told (I have no memory) I screamed out in pain over and over begging for more pain meds. The next day a nurse on the floor paged the doc who was again in surgery and told him he better come quick. I was gray and in pain. He rushed me back into surgery to "explore" what was going on. He cut me wide open. Turns out he nicked my bowel the day before causing sepsis. I was put into a medically induced coma and on a ventalator in the ICU. Each day they would try to get me off the vent and out of the coma and it wasnt happening. I finally woke up (still no memory) They wanted me to sign a concent to return for a 3rd surgery. I stayed in ICU for awhile then was moved to a surgical floor. I still have memory lapse. My mother video taped me in the coma and to watch it really messes with my head. I had a bad feeling the night begore surgery but I allowed my mother and my husband to manipulate me into doing this. I had tried to get it done for years but insurance changed some didnt cover it etc and then I became diabetic and ended up with sleep apnea. They told me over and over its the best thing for me but now that I have a HUGE UGLY scar on my stomach (there goes the bikini) and several smaller ones and a ton of scar tissue that hurts so bad. I have muscle atrophy in my legs and severe spazams in my back. I go to physical therapy twice a week. I am not able to exercise yet like I would like to but I have gone from 295 to 227. I am at a road block. My doc told me if I need to be dialated again just to call the office but when I did I got told to go to the ER. He is passing the buck now and I am not a happy person.

I am really glad to hear that so many had a great experience. I am hopeful things will turn around for me at some point in the near future :)
