Have you tried smoking marijuana? I’m a registered respiratory therapist and wouldn’t normally advise someone to smoke, but the affects are almost immediate. Marijuana worked for my stepdaughter. Edibles wouldn’t work for her because food took more than 6 hours to move through her stomach.

Are you taking reglan? Has it helped? Has your doctor sent you to a gi doc? Have you had a gastric emptying test? I am having one done on March 25

Yes I had the gastric emptying.tesg and that's how I was diagnosed.

Hi I am new here just diagnosed with gastroparesis in severe range. Really hope this support group is currently active because most replies seem over one year ago outside of seeing this one. Hoping for any tips. Almost ER Monday and soups I made were disgusting. Smoothies work just not feeling well and taken off guard by this episode as so far unpredictable. Maybe it’s as simple as not eating after certain time before bed. It was scary how pale I became, vomiting about 6-7 hours with body aches causing shortness of breath but isn’t COVID my GI said was episode. I’m not sure what I’m asking I don’t want to just vent I need tips. Not easy trying to work in normal life that’s already difficult with this condition. I thought my history severe migraine was terrible. And it was. But this is something to put it one way

I was diagnosed last month (after tons of tests and finally the gastric emptying test) with GP. I think I've had a mild version for several years because of early satiation. But the last few months have been awful with pain, irradic bowel, vomiting and constant nausea. I can relate with what you guys are saying here, also that there really doesn't seem to be much that can be done. The suggested GP diet is so much more food than what I generally eat that it makes me sick just to think about it. And yes, the anxiety about what, if, when and how much to eat and how it's going to react is becoming unbearable. I wish everyone here the best, and hope we've found a good place to share and learn. I took food sensitivity test and around 7 appointments. Many medical bills are arriving and my last one was also the gastric emptying

I make a smoothie or something and for first time everything to eat takes so much effort or fear especially if later evening. I’m looking into several recipes tomorrow and researching so I will share if any good finds. I’m not sure what FODMAP stands for but this was suggested by a friend - not sure it’s specifically for GP.

I had no idea to lower fiber try to eat less than 3-10 grams in one sitting but not sure if true.

The site livingWithGastroparesis.com might be helpful. I just ordered the book hoping for help and surprised my GI didn’t refer me to a book or dietician. But maybe that was not her role which was to diagnose and advise
