Wow! It's been over 9 months now. I had 2/3 of my stomach removed and four sessions of chemotherapy followed. I was out of work for six weeks. The surgeon said he had removed the whole tumor. I went in with a stage 2 and came out with a stage 3. Right now the oconologist is trying to make sure that everything is clear. The last CT scan showed everything seems to look good. Another CT scan in a couple of weeks to recheck my lungs since they spotted something. Maybe bronchitis they say.
I still have my mediport In. Once that is removed, I will know that I am in the clear for a while. I have no idea when the removal will occur.
My fear is that cancer will come back. You hear many stories that people are cancer free but then it reappears after several years. So I'm not naïve to think that cancer will never come back.
I think the key is to keep living your life. Keep planning things in life like future vacation trips, your child's graduation, holidays...etc.
