Marigolds are one of those cheap, common annuals that can be very showy and anyone can grow. I love to see a row of them, fully bushed out with lots of blooms. My favorite kind are the red with gold edges.

Yesterday I planted 7 red/orange/gold marigolds in a row with 15 jester Gladiola bulbs. I really should have planted the bulbs earlier but have to do what weather permits. They are yellow and orange with black in the middle. I planted them with marigolds along the fence on one side of the garden. I planted purple alyssum seeds and purple and white jester Gladiola on the other side of that section of garden.

The middle strip of my garden I am saving for sweet corn. The other side has melons. Also my strawberry patch, which is by the house, is doing well and already getting berries.
