now this might have limited impact on people, but as an australian i am so annoyed that Mortal Kombat has been banned purely because we dont have an R18+ rating, and if they soften it i will go nuts, ok ok more nuts, and in addition, what it is going to do is create illegal imports, much like when GTA 3 originally was released then banned then re released, and manhunt 2 you could still get them was just a pain, now i agree manhunt 1 and 2 were remarkably brutal but still banning just increases want,

anyone have any views?

Australia and Germany are quite strict with there game releases, it sucks. On the plus side, the PS3 is region free, so import games are a little easier to get hold of.
It's a knee-jerk reaction without any basis in reality.

oh man, i feel your pain.
i worked on the AvP game that was also banned in australia/germany.
the australian release happened though after some re-certification so there`s hope!
germany is crazy though, not allowed blood (or if it`s in there then you have to change the colour)

its quite messed up i remember the AvP one, though i still got it first day, i think in OZ we have an avid gamer community that kicks up a stink, but its still an annoyance, may as well ban all horror movies there alot more graphic than a game, its all just drivvel and proaganda
