My dear Mama had polio when she was pregnant with me. She worked so hard to get herself back to where she was in her life. She accomplished that. All of that she accomplished through the aid of her Mother. Dear Grams was a retired nurse. She worked hard on her daughter. My dear Mama was paralyzed from the neck down.People were always amazed when they found out that she had polio.
My Father was a drunk. Many years later I came to understand that he was what you call a functional alcoholic. Oh boy doesn't that sound a lot better? A drunk, no no versus a functional alcoholic oh yes.
